When reading blogs and other articles… a common unsettling theme comes up. People. Why is that people are viewed as being dispensable when they are the backbone of any organisation.

Sure, with the advent of AI, people seem to be discarded/ not treated with the respect and dignity they deserve. Why is it that it’s okay to take away a persons role because they are close to retirement so they won’t miss it… or make structural changes to a team without any change management. People need reassurance. They aren’t AI after all.

I’ve worked in many high performing teams. In every team the common thread was… team members having respect, being honest (the type that puts you back in your place) and empathy.

In addition to the above, extremely motivated and skilled individuals helped the teams excel… off course. The humanness needs to be brought back.

If people are petrified to lose their jobs because they haven’t completed their Regulatory Exam or passed the Product specific training… with insufficient support provided by the organisation… how does one expect people to excel.
