This is the new normal… well atleast for the next few years. COVID-19 has reiterated that change is the only constant and we need to embrace it in the most responsible way. There are opportunities but we need to be open to seeing them.
Despite all the changes one must still carry themselves with the highest levels of professionalism and always keep the client at the forefront of all decision-making. This is evident from the deluge of debarment findings over the past couple weeks.
Some of the key decisions have identified the following:
- Ensuring that documents are completed prior to the client signing same.
- FSPs must ensure that the correct debarment processes are followed to avoid unfairness.
- Representatives must always consider their rights and duties to the client and the FSP first and foremost.
- A breach of contractual terms between the parties does not necessarily mean that a debarment is justified.
